Important: Make sure that you install the Studio One integration files for Impact after installing Studio One. If you accidentally ran our installer before installing Studio One, Studio One will not recognize your Impact series keyboard. In that case, simply run our latest Studio One support installers again. You can find the latest installers on your Account page.

  1. With your Impact series keyboard connected and powered on run the Impact support installer you downloaded from the ‘My Account’ section of the Nektar website after registering Impact. Here are those instructions.
  2. Now launch Studio One.
  3. From the Studio One menu navigate to ‘Preferences’ (in OS X) or ‘Options’ (in Windows) and select ‘External Devices’ (image 1 OS X and image 4 Windows).
  4. If your ‘External Devices’ window already shows two Impact LX devices (image 1, image 4) you are ready to go. Move on to step 8.
  5. However if you see only one or no devices you will need to click the ‘Add…’ button to add them manually.
  6. Choose the missing Impact GX/LX** Control and/or Impact GX/LX** Keyboard from the Nektar folder (image 2 and 3 OS X, image 5 and 6 Windows) and click ‘OK’.
  7. Make sure the ‘Receive From’ & ‘Send To’ ports are set up according to the table below. (image 1 OS X and image 4 Windows). Impact LX is used an example but it applies equally to Impact GX:

Studio One Midi Controller

  • If you are using an original Impact LX or iX controller with Studio One 4 you will need to follow the instructions on this page.
  • If you see your Impact controllers in the External Devices window but transport and other control surface functions are not working, please reinstall the Studio One support files.
  • If you have manually removed your Impact controllers you will need to reinstall the Studio One support files in order to use them Studio One again.

Patch Changes
If you find that the [< Patch] and [Patch >] buttons don’t work when controlling a third-party plug-in, it’s likely because the plug-in uses it’s own patch browser. The Patch buttons on the Impact series control the patch navigation functions of the DAW, so you may need to save the plug-ins presets in your DAWs patch format, before you can use the Patch buttons on the Impact controller for patch navigation. You can find more information about saving patches in your DAW, in the documentation for that program.
